How to play BlackJack
The basics of blackjack are relatively simple. The real beauty
of black jack is that it - together with poker - is the best game
to play in internet casinos because the house edge can be lowered
so much that casinos do not have that much of an advantage over
the player. So how to play blackjack?
The first step when learning how to play blackjack is to realize
that you need discipline. You must have the discipline to play perfect
strategy and not stray because you want to make back past losses!
The object of BlackJack is to come as close to 21 as possible,
without going over and bust. Cards of rank 2 through 10 are scored
according to their face value. All face cards are 10 points.
Now, before the dealer deals any cards, the player must place a
bet. The player does this by putting the chips - or money - on the
Blackjack table.
The dealer deals two cards to every player, including himself/herself.
The dealer's first card goes face up. Each player's job is to come
as close to 21 as possible.
If you have 21 with two cards, that is blackjack and you win 1.5
times your bet. If you have less than 21, you can hit and then receive
another card or stand.
After one or more hits, you may then stand - unless you have gone
over 21 - bust - in which case you lose. After each player is done
its the dealers turn to act.
The dealer's strategy is simple. The dealer must hit on 16 or less,
and stand on 17 or more. Players who beat the dealer (higher value)
win the amount of their bet. Players who tie with the dealer neither
win nor lose, it is a push. Thats is how to play blackjack.
